Flood in the desert: Tragedy in the north of Chile

Hi, guys
This week I talk about that happened a week ago about disaster occurred in the Norte Chico, Region of Antofagasta, Atacama and Coquimbo, specially Region of Atacama.

Death toll chile floods still likely rise official

The incident took place at dawn on Wednesday due to heavy rains that occurred in the week that caused overflowing of watercourses of waters, and also landslides affecting villages of the valleys of the rivers Copiapó, Huasco and El Salado, this flow of mud swept away everything in its path burying with mud to these citiesto turn to their inhabitants and their belongings. Caused far more 50 people missing and more than 20 people dead, no access to drinking water, there are no basic services caused by this catastrophe.

Today one week of this disaster basic services are have been re-established little by little, it is imperative to the consumption of drinking water is working on restoring this service, in addition the rescue and the search for the missing persons and most importantly the mud and debris removal in the affected cities.  It was and they are organizing aid for the people of the region of Atacama, what is needed urgently is drinking water for sanitary and hygienic conditions, as it is what most people have donated water.

The inhabitants were affected this catastrophe at the time that the emergency occurred were evacuated when the authority gave the alert to evacuate, but there were already villages flooded, or overwhelmed by the overflow of the channels for the flow of water with the unique reaction of the population was evacuated to the roofs of their homes and the authorities were rescuing the stricken via area via helicopter.  The authorities have reacted, have not acted to prevent the catastrophe, attended the emergency and try to restore normalcy in the area, to help the victims.

Much is speak of that not is foresaw this disaster, but in the background as is attended the emergency and also not is provides the risk although had factors more human that natural that caused this disaster of origin natural, but my repair not goes to near this but goes to the centralization latent in our territory as is translates in that them decisions about the emergency were taken from Santiago and not in the region affectedwith which the means have not heard of the socio-economic and cultural realities of several villages of this region with what is most necessary decentralize, decentralize and give autonomy to the regions of the country to improve services for the prevention of emergencies and of our country.

WC: 455. Far too many. You were asked to write 300 words. Make sure you stick to the instructions next time. You should invest more time in the edition of your text, you have many grammar and spelling mistakes that should be checked before uploading your writing.

I totally agree with you thinking that decisions should be made at the place where the catastrophe strikes, not in the capital of the country. If they need helicopters, for example, why should helicopters fly from Santiago? Why can't they distribute the helicopters for these operations in different cities?

    Please, consider the following obs.:

This week I WILL talk about /that/ WHAT happened a week ago about THE disaster THAT occurred …

… basic services are BEING (have been) re-established little by little, …

...The inhabitants were affected BY this catastrophe

    … but my (repair??)
